What does EFT help me do?
Goals that can be addressed with EFT include;
Emotional reactions to events /situations that you want to change i.e. Grief, anxiety, overwhelm guilt, stress, resentment, depression etc
Physical feelings/reactions i.e. stress headaches, aches and pains etc
Habits i.e. repeatedly thinking negative thoughts
Behaviour patterns i.e. eating food just because you are bored
Phobias and fears
Cravings and addictions
What is EFT?
EFT is acupuncture but without the needles. By tapping on acupuncture points on your body while thinking about a issue/problem/goal, you can change the way energy flows through your body and the way your brain reacts to the thought/behaviour/feeling/goal. This neutralises emotional triggers and re programmes the brain into a more positive or beneficial thought pattern.
What happens in a EFT session?
EFT can take place in my private office in Adlington, close to Chorley and Horwich or over the phone/online.
In an EFT session firstly we will discuss your issue/problem/goal then break it down into smaller component issues, all the smaller bits that make up the whole problem/issue/goal. You will be asked to rate the intensity of the issue between 0-10 and together we then come up with a short phrase that sums up each individual part. We then repeat this phrase while tapping on various parts of the face and upper body. At the end of each round of tapping you will be asked to re-rate the intensity. We continue until you get a 0 reading.
What if I don't want to talk about the problem too much as it upsets me?
The great thing about EFT is that I don't need to know about the issue/problem at all for it to work. As long as you can hold an image, word or feeling in your mind about the issue/problem the EFT works. You can call the problem whatever you want to, for example the elephant, and I never need know what this is about.
